The soul and intellectual foundation of Idzhat is our founder, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Almaz Shakirovich Gazizov. His unique path from the field to the laboratory embodies our mission.
- Foundation in the Field: A graduate of the Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry (1955), he began his career as a drill operator with Tatburneft. This practical experience provided an invaluable, ground-level understanding of oilfield challenges.
- Scientific Breakthrough — The PDS Technology: In the 1970s, his research led to the creation of a revolutionary Polymer-Dispersed System (PDS) technology. It serves a critical dual purpose:
- Water Shut-Off: Effectively isolating high-water-cut zones to reduce unwanted water production.
- Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR): Modifying fluid flow in reservoirs to mobilize and produce additional oil from mature, flooded fields.
- Tangible Result: The implementation of his technologies across the USSR and Russia yielded extraordinary results, contributing to the additional recovery of over 160 million barrels of oil.
- Creation of “Idzhat”: In 1992, leveraging his vast scientific expertise (36 patents, State Prize winner), Almaz Shakirovich founded “Idzhat” as a vehicle to rapidly translate laboratory innovations into field-ready solutions.
