Purpose
GCC Technology is designed for enhanced oil recovery in heterogeneous terrigenous reservoirs
Field of Application
The technology is designed for efficient oil recovery from terrigenous formations characterized by the following indicators:
Injectivity of injection wells ranging from 80 to 200 m³/day at a pressure of 10 MPa.
Low sweep efficiency of water flooding;
How it works
The GCC interacts with mineralized formation water to form slightly soluble precipitates, leading to isolation of water-flushed zones in the oil reservoir.
The GCC possesses a broad range of properties that positively impact the effectiveness of treatment in oil-water saturated formations:
- Reduction of interfacial tension at the oil boundary, which enhances the oil-displacement properties of the composition.
2. Formation of precipitates that do not dissolve in excess alkaline reagent;
Result of GCC Application
- Increase in reservoir sweep efficiency by water flooding
- Increase in oil displacement efficiency (under conditions of residual oil washout)
Advantages
GCC technology has been applied in reservoirs with low geological quality (low injectivity, low permeability and porosity), where the use of other common EOR methods is problematic.
